Our dad was the biggest kid in every room, and somehow also the deepest thinker.
He could have you laughing one minute and asking yourself questions you'd never considered the next.
He believed in education, but not just the kind you get in a classroom. He believed in learning how to think for yourself, question what you're told, and see beyond what everyone else expects of you. He was always there to help, but what he really wanted was for you to know you could stand on your own.
And he loved kids. Probably because he never stopped being one himself.
That's why we're starting the Dell Project: a foundation for children growing up without the stability of a permanent home or family. We want to give them the guidance, education, and opportunities they need to think independently, question the limits others place on them, and build futures beyond what society expects of them.
Our dad loved to build. Through the Dell Project, he'll continue building.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, we would appreciate pledges toward bringing the Dell Project to life.
We want to make sure his legacy lives on forever, not just in the lives he touched, but in the future, through every child who gets the chance to build their own.
